Sunburst Christmas wreath from recycled baubles

Don't throw hideous Christmas baubles away, you may still be able to re-use them.
I just want to share today how you can make something fun from horrible baubly leftovers .
I made this sunburst wreath from a whole load of hideous Christmas decorations I picked up last summer. That is by the by the best time to shop for cheap Christmas ornaments.
I paid £ 3-- for this whole lot here below.I mean, you can't go wrong with a price like that .They were a mixed lot with loads of plastic ones.

I had actually already packed the glass ones that were amongst them safely away. These were the leftovers.
It's  best really to sort out what you have and what kind of shapes they have.
I had loads of these droopy icicle ones - all 100 % plastic..and pretty grim..

Then I also had loads of these which were even worse ..

Just be brave and just look at the shapes, and see what you can do.You can always respray the whole lot with white or - you can go for a colour like shocking pink, bright orange , or whatever you fancy. You are not tied to the colour - that can all be changed by the easy use of a spray paint!
I sorted out the shapes and started playing around.
Basically you just need to look how much of the same shape of bauble you have and see what design looks best to you.Symmetry is always best really.
I took a wreath I still had from another post-
I always re-use things.
It's a basic wreath you can easily make yourself by taking some willow branches and tie them together into a circle.
Then I split up the baubles of which I had the most and split them in 2 groups so I could build up the wreath symmetrically.
I decided to use the icicles as cones that would be hot-glued to the outside, sticking up..The white/gold ones I decided to attach to the inside of the wreath.

Here you can see the icicles, now cones,  sticking up.I ran short on the icicles for the top so used a whole load of different coloured gold ones and hot-glued them all on top of each other.I had one different icicle left which I attached to the top- it has a bit of a strange shape and looks a bit like a unicorn spike..
This is the wreath pictured from the side- it has a strange spooky look, I think, like something dug up from the deep seabed....

and here with a Christmassy baubly garland which was also in the box of cheap baubles..which I think looks even better..

and here you can see it on a mirror without the Christmassy baubly garland.

But I really prefer it with it as here below...

I am actually really quite glad I did not throw these baubles away - as I have to admit to you, I had already packed them in a bag to be taken to a charity shop.I can even see this would work as a sunburst mirror, if I would glue  a piece of mirror behind it.
And I hope I have inspired you to have another look at your discarded Christmas baubles to see what you can  craft with it.
Have a great weekend!
