Featured on.. www.examiner.com - and a new breadbasket

Today has been very exciting as I have just been featured by the fabulous Rebecca Restrepo the Arts and Craft correspondent on www.examiner.com with a whole article on furniture makeovers, with a lovely interview and a slideshow of the furniture with lots of before and after pictures.
Rebecca sounds just like a woman after my own heart " Rebecca is a craftaholic. She uses her powers for good by turning everyday trash and cast off second hand items into treasure" so says her write-up on the Examiner.
You can see the whole of Rebecca's article about Modern Country Lady and the interview here
Go and check it out- it's a lovely article!!

The Modern Country Gentleman's birthday was last week, and his father very sweetly brought a lovely gift-basket which was full of gorgeous goodies, such as wonderful cheeses, chocolate, a pretty plant and a great book.
The basket itself was quite sweet as well... and I thought to use it...
I thought this would be perfect as my new breadbasket.. but obviously someone had other ideas....

And the plant went in for a bit of a pasting as well until I found a safe place for it.....
If fact there was a whole queue lining up for the use of it....
So it was quite a success.....

Have a great weekend!!

Dearest Bea,

Congratulations on this exposure; I've liked it... so it might add to some more social media publicity.
Your cats are quite a show! Wishing your significant other a happy belated birthday and enjoy these cat rascals.

Love,

Mariette

Oh! I'm dying! I love this! Just this morning I was telling one of my kitties...a naughty Tortie too..."uh, you don't actually belong on the kitchen sink!" She merely threw me a withering look and continued to pose!! ;}

Love those cats! They know a great basket whenthey see one! My carmel is a lover of cardboard boxes, he prefers his over any bassket thus far. Lately he has been having a tormented love affair with my prized porcelain doll, no mattyer where I place her he seeks her ouyt and nuzzles to her. Funny way of relating to an inanimate object but little Carmel never ceases to amaze me! Happy PS!

Cats always have to be in the middle of things don't they. I never knew where I would find our cat some days and the surprise there he would be in a closet or a cupboard.

Dearest Bea,

Blogger seems to have a problem with the thumbnail of your (our!) first photo that is not showing on the sidebar of other bloggers... To fix it do the following, as I managed to do and solve it right away (you do this for each new blog and the present one!):

Here we go!

To have the first picture of your blogpost showing as a thumbnail on other blogrolls, you go back into Edit post and click the HTML button, Scroll down until you find the HTML code for the first picture in your post. Within that code you will find, once or twice this:

You need to make a couple of modifications, this is what you want -

http://...ggpht.com....

To RECAP https becomes http:/ / and googleusercontent.com becomes ggpht.com

Lots of love,

Mariette

But if you had BOUGHT that basket, INTENDING it to be a kitty bed, they would have scorned it and gone no where near it.

Happy sweet and sugary Pink Saturday...God Bless you and keep you this week...

That's hilarious! Now, if you bought it specifically as a bed for them, they wouldn't want anything to do with it, too funny:@)

What cute cats. Thanks so much for writing me today and telling me about the code change to get photos to reappear. I was totally going to go in and edit following your instruction but noticed that my photo is miraculously working again. But....I am going to save your instruction on my computer in cast this ever happens again. So many of us did without photos for over a week. It was terrible! Thanks so much for taking the time to help me.

Oh your little tortise is adorable, as is the other one, too. I am such a fan of tortise kitties. We lost our 17 yo tortie this yr, but we have another long haired one with an adorable face called Baby. They are such loves. Just found your blog and it is delightful. Think I'll bake that cake after I do some conversions! I'm looking forward to many visits! Sincerely, Annette Tracy

Too too funny! Mine always like to lay on paper and the one loves to help me "fold" clothes. He is always right up in it all assisting.

That is so funny! I wondered when I saw the picture of the cat in the basket. Thanks for linking to WUW.

Very funny! I wondered when I saw the kitty in the basket what was going on. Cats will get in the smallest things they can. My cat tries to get in an empty twelve pack coke box. He pushes the box all over the place trying to fit. Thanks for joining WUW.

Love those pictures of your kitties. They made me miss my cat who died before C'mas so much. He loved to sleep in the most unusual places.

Too funny. I guess it wasn't meant to be a breadbasket, not unless your bread is cat shaped.
